DXNest

About the program

What is DXNest?

DXNest is a CAD/CAM software system that automates production preparation for sheet-metal and façade fabrication: it reads DXF drawings and Excel part lists, generates panel geometry, nests parts onto stock sheets, and produces CNC programs, bills of materials, packing slips, labels and reports.

It replaces the slowest part of fabrication — manual production preparation — with one automated workflow. Engineers review and adjust results instead of redrawing, recalculating and copying data between tools.

    Drawings in

DXF files and Excel part lists, or parametric panel types — DXNest detects closed contours and builds the parts list.

  2. 2

    Nesting on your sheets

Parts are packed onto your real stock — multiple sizes, per-material, with margins — for the highest utilization.

  3. 3

    Production files out

CNC programs, nested DXFs, BOMs, packing slips, labels and reports — ready for the shop floor.

Under the hood

What happens between “import” and “cut”

Reading drawings, not just files

DXNest opens your DXF drawings, validates the geometry and automatically detects closed contours — each one becomes a part with a name, material and quantity. The parts list builds itself; you only review it.

Parts can also come from the built-in parametric panel library: pick a panel type, feed it dimensions from Excel, and DXNest generates exact geometry including corner angles, hole patterns and edge rules.

Nesting that respects your stock

The nesting engine distributes parts across the sheet formats you actually have — multiple sizes, limited quantities, per-material assignment and safety margins. An accelerated placement search keeps utilization high and scrap low, even on projects with hundreds of parts.

Every layout is exported as a nested DXF plus a visual PDF/PNG report your operators can check at a glance.

CNC programs and shop-floor documents

For each nested sheet DXNest generates a ready-to-run CNC program with your machine parameters per material and thickness, plus engraved part names so nothing gets mixed up after cutting.

Alongside the programs you get the paperwork: bills of materials, packing slips, part labels and material usage reports in Excel and PDF.

Why fabricators choose DXNest

Built by engineers who prepared production by hand, DXNest removes the repetitive work — redrawing parts, recalculating sheets, copying data between CAD, Excel and the CNC — and lets your team focus on the parts that need judgement.

Services

We set DXNest up for your factory

DXNest is delivered as a working solution for your production, not a box of features.

  1. 01

    Discovery & analysis

We examine your drawings, DXF files, BOMs and CNC programs, map the workflow and find bottlenecks and error sources.

  2. 02

    Custom configuration

We configure DXNest for your materials, sheet formats, panel types and CNC machines, plus nesting, labels and BOM formats.

  3. 03

    Client-specific development

Extra import/export formats, ERP/MES integration, custom calculations and reports, special nesting logic for non-standard parts.

  4. 04

    Implementation & training

We launch on real projects, train engineers and operators, collect feedback and keep optimizing after go-live.
